4 Door Sedan - Lamborghini
Imagine doing 0 to 60mph sprint in 3.2 secs (not the actual figure) with a baby seat in rear - shocked. Well this could be true with the new concept family car from Lamborghini.
Definitely a shocker, its called the “Estoque” the new four door sedan which was unveiled at the Paris Motor show. Looks are long and too typical to be a Lamborghini, guess to accommodate the four doors. It may or may not go in production as-is depending on reaction it get. As for me this is what I got from my car-carzy friends, “u carzzy” “u out of ur mind” “u must be kiddin” when I gave then the news that there is a new four door sedan from Lambo.
This cud be an image spoiler for Lamborghini, plus the whole concept of doing this fast with family seems like dangerous, and if you plan to take it out for a sprint all by yourself then why do you need four doors. So for me it’s a no-go. though I kind of liked the looks for a family sedan

Google Chrome

Amazing new browser from Google, cool, fast and has some really good features,
1. Incognito Mode, for private browsing, that is, page viewed in this mode won’t appear in your browser history or search history
2. Dynamic Tabs, which can be easily re-ordered by dragging, also a tab can easily be converted into a new window and back by just dragging
3. New tab window displays a history of all the pages which user has recently visited.
And guess what, all these features at a cool speed, and with minimal graphics, so you get to use most of the real estate of your screen for browsing.
Download Google Chrome and experience it for yourself. You can also visit http://www.google.com/chrome to see other cool features.
Google - News, Usability Issue
I was just surfing Google - News, for top stories and latest update and found this.
Inconsistent placement of screen feature.
From users perspective it would have made more sense to display this feature as displayed in inside page. Google should consider changing it on the landing page.
Just a thought, let me know if you agree with me….
Also, if you see carefully and compare two screens a new link gets added in inside page “About Google News”, which is missing from the landing page. Don’t know if there is any logic behind it.

Watch out for new HTC Touch Diamond. Amazing touch screen features, see for yourself
WordPress Usability
It’s been just couple of months that I have started using WordPress to blog, quite simple, easy to use and pretty much self-explanatory , but there are few issues, which I have faced a couple of times. Don’t know if it’s just with me or other WordPress users also have a similar opinion. I am trying to explain them with illustration (where ever I can).
Writing/Editing Post
Previewing changes made to the post:
Every time I click on “Preview this Post” button immediately after making changes to post, it doesn’t show the changes, probably because I didn’t click save before previewing. But what I remember from the screen was that it auto-saves the post with a time stamp which was placed nicely on the right hand side corner. So now the question is if system has saved my changes why can’t I see the changes, probably there was a time lag between two auto-saves, so I come back hit save and then preview, there…. now I can see my changes. Lot of back and forth happened between Preview and edit screen, just to see changes.
I would imagine “Preview” should save the post by itself, if auto-save hasn’t happened for the changes and show the updated preview. This function needs to be performed by the system and dependency should not be there on user, just because there is a time lag between two auto-saves.
Adding Tags and Categories:
Another issue that I have faced is that I forget to add tags and categories to my post and hit publish most of the times (especially when I do this without previewing the post… guess shouldn’t be doing it), and notice it only when I see “uncategorized” under the post heading. There I go again.. missed something.. well now I need to..
(1).. Login back
(2).. Click on post..
(3).. Click on post title to edit it
(4).. Scroll down
(5).. Add tags and categories to the post… and
(6).. Oh! Scroll back up and click save to make changes visible
Guess this issue is related to resolution I have on my system which is 1280×800. As a result of which options like “Tags” and “Categories” gets hidden under the scroll, resulting in overlooking of these options, which as per me are important part of the post. I have tried to illustrate the issue below.
Adding Tags and Categories:
Another issue related to adding Tags and Categories is the screen workflow. As a normal scanning pattern I would expect to preview, save or publish post after I have filled in all requisite information, that is, at the end of the screen. Where as in this case after working all the way down filling in information, I have to scroll all the way up to preview, save or publish the post, which reduces the speed and also frustrates at times.
Hope these issues are addressed in forthcoming releases of WordPress.
Usability Review of web application form
I have just finished my Usability training from HFI, and since then have been reading a lot on web about usability and its best practices, especially in regard to User Interface design for website and web applications. And while surfing I came across this site, which has a bad example of form design, overlooking some basic usability rules. This is how the form looks:
Some of my observation based on knowledge gained during training and research I have been doing on web:
- Form Layout: Center aligning text label and fields, not left aligning, which is not the common scanning pattern for English reading user.
- Form Layout: Too many white lines and colors used for separating fields, which adds lot of visual elements to page, attracting users eye and taking away attention from the key element. This could have been achieved by just white space.
- Form Layout: Vertical label though helps in rapid scanning but adds lot of vertical space to the page.
- Content: Use of terminology on page, for instance ‘obligatory’, instead of commonly used terminology like “Required”. Also placement of same is proximally disjointed with the form, which is against the Law of Proximity stated in Gestalt’s Principle.
